Al Howard kicked off the Out of a Jam (OOAJ) event with this moving musical poetry which speaks to the heart. Al truly is an amazing man.

The US is at war in two countries. The world's social, economic, and environmental systems are stressed and yet positive possibilities abound. 25 artists are gathering in one location for forty hours to collaborate, on music, discuss their thoughts and opinions, and record history. Why? To capture this historic moment in time as our country's first black presidential nominee runs for office. This happening will document what is in the hearts, minds, and music of our most talented artists on the eve of this historic election held in a city (New Orleans) that represents a defining moment in modern American history. We call it simply, "Out of a Jam".
