Alessia Castelli was born in Naples,Italy.She has started playing guitar at the age of 16. Her early preference for heavy metal was later surpassed by rock and jazz fusion while studying with G.Tamburelli( G.I.T. graduated). In 1996 she began performing professionally with the alternative rock band 'Mary Jane', playing club, concert and festival engagements across Italy. In 2001, thanks to a residency in Milan, where she studied at the European Schol CPM, she managed to get some exposure when she was heard by Franco Mussida from PFM since he consequently actively encouraged her career. After graduation Alessia continued touring, particularly with Delta V (BMG) one of the biggest seller in Italy and Dolcenera (BMG) ,(winner of the Sanremo Festival 2002) both signed to BMG-Italy . In that period she has written articles for the italian music magazine 'strumenti musicali'.From 2003 to 2007 Alessia has been a member of Vertigini, a female rock band with whom she had realized the first album 'Call me crazy' recorded at Alari Park in 2006. While playing with Vertigini Alessia has lived her dream of performing to crowds that ranged from 60,000 to 100,000 people. Vertigini have, in fact, partecipated to the most important events of the Italian summer music season:Arezzo Wave love Festival , the I-tim tour and The band has also opened the italian tour of the english band Stereophonics, on their 2003 Italian tour. The album has been released official on June 2006 for the italian label "Urban Solo" and is distribuited by "Self" . In 2006 Alessia has also toured with the pop singer Valentina Gautier and in 2007 she had the great honor to play acoustic guitars with Massimo Ranieri Orchestra. Now she 's the soloist player of Entropiagirls coverband (star's garden management) and gives lessons as a music teacher.
