I was born in Brooklyn, NY.

I started singing and writing songs since I was a young child. I don't know exactly when because it feels like I was born into the music. My parents were heavy into music and listened to all genres, which was a blessing. This made it easy for me to do any style of music. I didn't grow up wanting to be an entertainer, I did music for my own pleasure. It was just a part of me. Slowly it developed into what it is today.

I moved to the Virgin Islands in my teens.

I was in a rap group in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands when I was about 15, that's when I started recording in the studio and performing live. From there I moved to St. Croix, Virgin Islands and joined several groups. The first was a group consisting of myself, and two friends. We were reggae/r&b. I also sang in a reggae band. Eventually I went solo. I performed live with many major acts in St. Croix which include Fugees, Busta Rhymes, Lady Saw, and many other reggae acts.

At the age of about 18 I moved back to NY and started recording with local producers. I signed my first deal with Travio records shortly after. There main act was and still is PitchBlack. We were from the same hood in Bushwick, Brooklyn. That didn't really last long, we went sperate ways but still remain friends.

I started to meet alot of new people in the industry and eventually landed a new deal with RuffRyders, Before I had even gotten the deal with RR I had written a hook on Eve's album. I also wrote for Angie Stone on Styles album.

A few other hooks here and there for the rest of the RR family. I featured on the Exit wounds soundtrack, "Off da chain" and on Jin's album"Love Story" and I also have been on RRvol.3 and 4 and been on a few mixtapes.

I was also with the Bloodline Family for a minute.

Fast forward to DefJam. I am currently working on my album under RR/DefJam

So far it's been a roller coaster ride, lots of ups, a few downs, but I feel its worth it. I am not a generic artist, I'm giving my ideas and personal experiences. I keep it very real.

I love what I do and I would continue to do music, deal or no deal.

Sincerely Loving Music,

Aja Lorraine.
