A.G.E.



It all started with my need for acceptance. At first, it led me into things like throwing spit wads at my teachers and fighting with schoolmates. My friends and I eventually started a gang. It was our way of gaining attention.



The attention turned into organized crime as I got older. There were the drive-by shootings, the burglaries, the assaults, the parties, the drugs and the guns. This was my life. It was all I did.



I was going 78 mph down I-70 in an 8000 Series diesel one morning when it started to rain. It was four o’clock in the morning and I fell asleep at the wheel. Next thing I know, I'm rolling end over end with a few thousand pounds of tires in the back.



I woke up and realized that I'd been ejected out of the cab. I was shoeless, lying just ahead of where the truck stopped rolling. If God hadn't stopped that truck, I would've been crushed . . . and I knew it.



And, even though he kept me from getting my head smashed in during a gang fight, I still didn't learn. At least, not until I landed in the Commerce City jail with 4 felony counts. I knew that I was going to be there a long, long time.



It was there, cuffed to a cement bench that I confessed to God that, if he was real, I needed him to come into my life; that I needed Jesus as my Lord and Savior.



A year after that moment, my younger brother FLOW and I started a rap group called Preachas in tha Hood. All we wanted was to lead people to the Lord: At the first concert, 40 Crip gang members came to Jesus.



My past wasn't totally behind me yet. When it came time to show up in court, the D.A. was pressing for a long sentence. After the judge invited anyone to speak on my behalf, I stood up, being led by the Holy Spirit. When I was finished speaking, the judge gave me a small sentence and told me that he didn't want to see me in his courtroom ever again or he will put me away for a long time.



Now I get to go to prisons, youth detention centers, schools and wherever the doors are open preaching the gospel and sharing the gift of music that God has given me.
