AG Dolla is an East African Asian Bi-lingual rapper, who started to rap four years ago. AG was born in Kenya and bred in the streets of North London. His streetwise mentality and confidence gives him a cutting edge sound that cannot be replicated. Due to his versatility as an artist, he has become a role model for and within the Urban Asian community.
AG has had phenomenal support from stations like Radio One, 1Xtra and the BBC Asian Network. Bobby Friction has tipped AG Dolla as the “Next Big Thing” with support also coming from the likes of the Punjabi Hit squad on 1Xtra and Adil Ray’s show on BBC Asian Network.
His Debut Single Daydreamer received over 1000 plays across the UK in its first two weeks of airplay and the video also featured on channels such as Zee T.V (Global), B4U music (Global), Ben T.V, MTV Base Asia and Channel U, where Daydreamer won the “Best Video Award” voted by the viewers.
Since Daydreamer, AG has released the much-acclaimed albums “My Life In Rhymes” and “Mr. Shah”.
In 2008 AG won “Best Male Solo Artist” on the Sony Gold Award Winning Friction Show and since then has been nominated for the “Best Newcomer” in 2008 and “Best Urban Act” in 2009 at the AMA s. So far this year, AG has been nominated for “Best Urban Act” at the Newly Formed Brit Asia Music Awards.
