Agathis was formed in 2007 with one idea in mind. To create a style of music that was diverse, original, and something that had never been heard before. The band started with only 2 guys, Mike Gray and Steven Cyranoski, playing and writing music together while struggling to find more band mates. Mike got in touch with an old friend, Robbie Mitchener, and asked if he would like to give it a try. Mitchener agreed and the band was suddenly a 3 piece. The 3 started writing together, while still looking for more. They ran into old friends Eduardo Carrizales and Josh Green and the 2 decided to join the ride. Soon, Green decided to take his life in another direction and parted ways with the band.



Now the 4 needed a new vocalist and was itching to play some shows with their new material. They called up long-time musician Brandon Badillo and offered him the position, he accepted. Agathis was finally a solid 5 piece metal band and they were ready to hit the scene like no one before them. The band played dozens of shows together in and around their hometown of Amarillo. After about a year of being on the scene, Gray decided to return to school and left town. It was a peaceful and friendly split, but the band was again stuck without a 2nd guitarist. This is when they decided to meet with Wade Tosh, a guitarist that all of them had known from their past years in the scene. Tosh joined the band and made Agathis what it is today.



Agathis is: Brandon Badillo on vocals, Steven Cyranoski on guitar, Wade Tosh on guitar, Eduardo Carrizales on bass, and Robbie Mitchener on drums.

We are currently working on writing some new material for you guys and things are looking pretty good at the current moment. We have a few things up our sleeves that you might be seeing in our next couple of shows. We should be hitting the studio fairly soon when we get everything together, maybe this summer. We'll keep you updated!
