Formed sometime around 1985 in Harrogate, Yorkshire, UK. Acid Reign played a fun brand of thrash metal reflected in the sleeve photos, gigs and song titles. On the back of the second demo, Moshkinstein, the band signed to Under One Flag,a subsiduary of Music For Nations, and 88 saw the first Mini-LP Moshkinstein released.
Extensive gigging saw the band gain widespread support on the UK club scene and in 89 the release of the first full length LP The Fear. Shortly after which Gaz Jennings and Ian Gangwer were replaced by Mac (Previously Holoslade), and Adam Lehan, (previously Lord Crucifer).
Further touring saw the band in Europe supporting Nuclear Assault and Exodus. A single of a cover of Blondies Hanging on The Telephone was released and in 1990 the second full length opus Obnoxious which saw the bands songwriting capabilities mature. This was not universally received by the fans and following the departure of Adam Lehan, (To Cathedral) and then Kev, (Lawnmower Deth) and a growing disilusionment in general the band decided to call it a day in 1991.
A compilation LP The Worst Of Acid Reign was released by Under one Flag featuring live, Demo and unreleased material.
It has been announced that Acid Reign have remastered re-issues due out in early 2011 on Lost & Found Records. Re-mastered by Bill Metoyer.
