Despite being one of the most underrated and overlooked indie mc’s of our time, Access Immortal has managed to put out a stream of steady and well received quality releases. Before he released his first official album, Access could be found honing his craft in front of Fat Beats while selling his self pressed up cd’s. His first release to gather attention nationally would be 2004’s “Limited Edition” mix tape which would serve as a preview to his upcoming album. In the spring of 2005, Access’s first official album, the critically acclaimed “Shades of Reality” would drop featuring production a majority of production from longtime collaborator Vanderslice as well as beats from 7L, Insight & J-Zone and appearances by Wordsworth, Breez Evahflowin, Smiley Da Ghetto Child & Substantial. After that release, Access would follow up with another mix tape entitled “New York Yankee” which is still being called to this day, one of the best indie mix tapes the listeners have ever heard. Between the first and 2nd albums, Access would go on too rock stages in cities such as New York, Philadephia, Boston & Providence and appear on many features such as Karniege’s Definitive Jux 12” Debut along side Aesop Rock & El-P and even be featured on his own single with the song “New York” release through Groove Attack records. Access would also have his album featured in Murder Dog magazine, several interviews both online and in international publications and appear on numerous radio shows from New York to Australia Once 2007 rolled around, Access would sign to Philadelphia indie label, Introspect Records and go on too release his 2nd album “American Me” in the summer of 2007 with features from artist like Reef The Lost Cauze, Akir & Skyzoo and receive success again with his new project. With 2 great albums under his belt, Access gave back to the fans in the form of “Last Summer In Brooklyn” in the summer of 2008. A free online mix tape to brought back that “New York Yankee” sound and put the spotlight on some of the people Access frequently collaborates with. Access has done shows with a host of known names in many states and cities and was also a runner up to perform at “Rock The Bells” in 2007 showing that he can definitely compete with any established or up and coming hip hop artist out there. A new project set to drop in the spring of 2008 will be Access’s first MC/Producer collaboration album with his partner DJ Ruckspin, collectively known as “Project Gotham”. Gaining new fans and supporters every day, those who have followed Access’s career know what true talent and potential he holds and those that haven’t will one day hopefully discover what was missing in hip hop all this time as the dawn of a new era is upon us and Access has proven he is at the top of his class when it comes to performing his craft.
