AASA (pronounced: 'Orsa'), associated with nordic goddesses and queens, reflects influences from nordic mythology with tracks like Goddess and The Empress, an inspiration that is also apparent in AASA's visual image. The four tracks being played here are selected from the upcoming album, Angels & Stars, containing tracks all written by AASA, recorded in London by Mark Ralph (The Filthy Dukes) and produced by Donn Lo (Billy Freedom of Cape Fear). The album has been mastered by John Davis (The Ting Tings, Razorlight, Snow Patrol) at the legendary Alchemy Soho and is scheduled to be released in 2009. "My work is always to some extent autobiographical, as there was always that one incident, that one thought, or realisation, that created a personal need to transscend that experience into a song. And so I've come to think of my work as jewels that I happen to stumble across. Like jewels, every song needs to be shaped and polished, but even so, it's a treasure waiting to be discovered. So I embrace every hurt and pain, not to mention the joy and pleasure I have ever felt, as they turned out to be treasures for me to keep - and for me to share." - AASA xxx
