8Forty8 are a rock band from Hamilton, New Zealand. Influenced by 70's supergroups like Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, they are renown for their live show which is action packed, dynamic and powerful. A band of four brothers and one other, with a true passion for classic rock. The band has recorded material for a new album that promises to be packed with killer riffs, screaming guitar solos, powerful ranging vocals, catchy melodies, smooth vocal harmony and a grunty and groovy rhythm section. Their 90's debut "Edge Of Time" won the Album Of The Year award in the Rock93FM Rock Awards and helped the band to gain a loyal fan base. In July 2008, guitarist Simon, and drummer Nathan took to the stage with Deep Purple legend Glenn Hughes @ the G-TARanaki International Guitar Festival in NZ for a rockin' set of classic MkIII & IV Purple. The show was deliverd to the highest standard, and was in all ways a huge success! a testiment to the quality of the musicianship. Keep an eye on upcoming gigs and events, it's 8.48 "Time To Rock"!!
