Failed Experiment Records was started in the fall of 2000 and has since grown into one of the best independent labels in Chicago. With over 20 releases out so far and many more in the works, FER has always set out to maintain a diverse roster of amazing bands, ranging from punk and hardcore to new wave, alt.country, mod, indie rock, metal, and more.
For Failed Experiment, the goal has always been to help local artists and for our releases to document important moments in the underground music scene. More recently, we have been strengthening our distribution and signing bands from other cities, not only to establish Failed Experiment Records beyond Chicago, but to create a network of bands and a community to help these bands as they tour and continue to create new music.
