Tenny Ten was born and raised in Wolverhampton – a background which has offered him cultural influence different to that of London based rappers meaning Tenny has developed a unique style and sound to bring to the UK urban scene.
Signed to ZY Records in 2007, Tenny has spent these years perfecting his craft as a writer, artist and live performer.
Tenny has recently completed UK tours with Chipmunk, Mr Hudson and Tinie Tempah; in October 2010 recorded a live session on Radio 1Xtra for DJ Cameo; has been in the studio working with Sony producer Bless Beats on 3 collaborations; he has completed 2 collaborations with S-X, 1 with Crazy Cousinz (with 1 more underway), he was supported by Eliza Doolittle at a gig October 2010 and recently supported Example with more gig requests coming in daily.
In between his busy schedule Tenny Ten makes the time to visit schools across the UK - having been raised in an urban area dominated by gang crime and violence, he has had first-hand experience of the effect this has on innocent lives having lost several of his friends to gun crime. This experience allows Tenny to speak from the heart to pupils from all over the country about how important it is to set goals in your life and stick to them. "I've got nieces and nephews," says Tenny, "and I hate the road they might go down. I want to show these kids that a little Wolverhampton boy from the Midlands is now going on tour with big names - we can do this, keep that belief, that solid grind and that work ethic."
After his hard work on tour and in the studio Tenny Ten's fully supported, debut album is ready to go and features collaborations with a wealth of named producers including the platinum album selling, award-winning 'Mr Woo' (10 Years Death Row/Suge Knight/Cam'ron/Destiny's Child).
The first underground single taken from this album was 'Swaggnificent' which entered the 'Music Week' club/pop charts and stayed in charts for 5 weeks peaking at No 11. Pivotal PR gained the support of Choice FM and Hart media gained further support from 1Xtra/ Galaxy/BBC Radio Northampton/ BBC Radio Nottingham /BBC Radio WM/Metro FM + 47 other regional radio stations.
Tenny Ten's latest track 'Bounce Wiggle' has been given exclusively to Radio 1Xtra at their request and is receiving very strong support from the DJs, with regular plays and great listener response.
