ABOUT THE IDEA/ALBUM
We want to add some very new facets to the Bond- song genre. The idea was not - as in earlier projects - to remix the songs or to do orchestral cover-versions of them. Nothing less than complete new interpretations of 007 theme-songs from the last three decades is the main idea behind MISTER BOND. And for that we could win over some well known german bondgirls and boys to do the vocals. So they got into the studio f.i. Pat Appleton (DE:PHAZZ), Cassandra Steen (ex-Glashaus, 3P, Kool Savas, Azad, Bushido, Melbeatz, Curse), Bossa Nova Chanteuse Katia B. from Brazil, Rick Washington (Kenny Loggins, The Eagles, Elton John, Xavier Naidoo, Söhne Mannheims) and Oliver Hartmann (At Vance).

WHY ?
While the Bond Songs from the golden era of the sixties and seventies are still considered as an embodiment of style and class after decades, we think the theme-songs of the later years are more or less light and shade. As e.g. Duran Duran´s View to a kill (1985) shows with it´s falsettovocal and synthi-tango beat that still has a kind of naturalcool charme to it. And also the contributions of Tina Turner ( Goldeneye, 1995) and Garbage (The world is not enough, 1999) can be regarded as successful in our eyes.
But very often the later Bond- Song proved to be very timebound, big budget superstarproductions, which lacked real quality and stylistic sense. Therefore songs like The Living Daylights (A-ha, 1987), License To ill (Gladys Knight, 1989), Tomorrow Never Dies (Sheryl Crow, 1997 ) or Die Another Day (Madonna, 2002) let one very easy think about giving them an musical rubdown or a complete new interpretation.
