The Zydeco Stingrays have become the most sought-after Dallas/Ft. Worth Cajun/zydeco act around for good reason. They certainly bring the flavor of the Bayou State, albeit with a word of caution: This band has been carefully constructed from concrete and glass, and not from the cypress stumps and mossy oaks of the Louisiana backwoods. Perhaps this is some clever slight of hand, but you'll find the Stingrays wear this vanguard with pride, even if their boots are a bit soaked with swamp water and mud. The atmosphere they create is undeniably Southern Louisiana, complete with its trademark Cajun and zydeco accordion grooves. What sets this electric combo apart from their traditional counterparts is a powerful octane boost of pop, rock, funk, and blues.

With Southern Louisiana riffs and textures colliding with familiar nightclub boogie beats, it becomes clear that it's difficult to pigeon-hole The Zydeco Stingrays into a kitschy ethnic band. Moreover, their pop-savvy zydeco-rock mix is just as sophisticated as any "kick out the jams" alternative rock & roll band. Their cultural isolation from Cajun Country has birthed something starkly original, clever and catchy. It's a sound that has garnered them a wide fan base and plenty of local accolades.
Wherever the Zydeco Stingrays perform-- it's a party -- and you'll find plenty of reasons to rock-out while your crawfish are boiling.
