Chinese fantasia!!! Music is my passion, a cool way to make friends and get in touch with people all over the world. I keep it as a hobby, so I can be free to create the real soundscapes I got in mind. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Currently jazzing around with Cabaret HiTeC, Bacon 27, Grelhados Passam Voando & Coletivo Shanghai, my solo project. Peace!

Zuzuwah, born and raised in Caxias do Sul (Brazil), has been making noise since he was a kid, but he ended up picking up the eletric guitar at the age of 15. Influenced by funk, jazz and trash metal, he began experimenting with free improvisation and composition in a band called Dona Benta. With this group, he released an independent album called "Banquete de Noema" (1997) and soon after he travelled to London (UK), in order to get into the jungle/drum and bass and acid jazz scene, in early 1998.
During this period, Zuzuwah met Deobia and together they co-wrote several songs in the afrobeat and bossa nova style. During his 4 years in London, Zuzuwah also played on a couple of singles released by Dj Asad Rizvi (Reverberation Records). He also started playing the saxophone at that time.
Back to Brazil, in late 2001 he formed Cabaret HiTeC, a crossover project, where he played the guitar and released an album called "Complexo Lo-Fi" (2004), which got a good feedback both from audiences and from the press. The band played on MTV Brasil and toured a lot around the brazilian south and also São Paulo clubs.
In 2005, Zuzuwah started working on new projects, which included playing the saxophone and composing with Bacon 27, which released the first album on Jan 08 called "Vamos lá em Casa"; the jazz-funk combo Grelhados Passam Voando and also his solo broken beats project called Coletivo Shanghai.
With Coletivo Shanghai, he played the Galeria Melissa in Sao Paulo, and released four albums: "The Mandarin Sessions" (2005), "Busking" (2006), "The Revolution Sessions" (2007) and "The Rasta Yoga Sessions" (2008). Besides that, there is a track out in a Soundial Records (Canada) compilation, on sale at Bluetracks and also 4 tunes as the soundtrack of Contraregra Wear website.
Respect!
Namaste
