Zdon Paporrella

Zdon Paporrella is a talented and gifted singer,song writer and producer from Nigeria.

Born to an army officer and civil servant, the singer’s early life was shaped by the discipline and forthrightness of his father, Dauda Nimyel, a retired Colonel in the Nigerian Army who was once Borno State Military Administrator (1993-1994). Zdon’s parents exposed the young Nimyel to the music of Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Ik Dairo, Fela Kuti,kenny rogers, and Bob Marley.



His love and passion for music led him on a journey of self discovery and self development musically.Before long he mastered the art of sound engineering and his career in the music business was born. In 1997, Zdon and his friends Paul and Icy formed a pop music group called ZIP. Their fresh, nervy sound made record labels unsure if their music was marketable, but the group finally had a hit record tittled tell me that could be heard just about anywhere in Nigeria in 2003.The three decided to part ways in 2005.



On July 28, 2005, Zdon kicked off his solo career with his debut single, “Na U. ” The song received massive radio airplay from mainstream entertainment print and electronic media including The Punch, Encomium Weekly, and The Sun, MTV, Channel O, and various Nigerian TV stations. His debut solo album, Experience Da Zee,showcases Zdon’s eclectic style, as he flows effortlessly from rap to reggae with a blend of R&B on each of the 14 tracks.The sophomore album which was more like a reloaded of the album was an even bigger success which finally propelled zdon to stardom and established him as a force to be reckoned with.the album included hits like nonsense,a song with inept lyrics about the ills of the nigerian music industry, filebe,na u remix e.t.c.The song nonsense is still very relevant and music pundits still can't get enough of it.



Zdon was nominated as “R&B Artist of the Year” at the Nigeria Music Awards (NMA).2006.He picked up the award 4 the best R& B act of the year at the gbedu awards 2007.He was awarded an award 4 his outstanding performance by the lagos state polytechnic in 2008/2009.Zdon won the award for the best performing act at the naija hit list awards in 2009.he was one of the contestants in the first ever mtv base reality show in nigeria called advance warning. He is presently in the studios workin on his third yet to be tittled album.already singles from the forth coming album my time which features igbo rap sensation nigga raw and dansia are banging the charts and becoming quite popular by the day.The anticipation of fans cannot be described as they anxiously look forward to the release of of the album.
