ZAHARIYA

Baignée dés le plus jeune âge dans la musique aussi bien funk, soul que hip-hop, Zahariya. a, depuis toujours eu un désir de scène. Elle grandit en banlieue parisienne entourée de ses frères D.Js et danseurs et se retrouve rapidement en contact avec la mouvance hip-hop des années 90, lors de soirées organisées par ces derniers.



A une époque ou le RNB français nexistait pas tel que nous le connaissons aujourd'hui, son frère HASHEEM devient l'un des précurseurs de la New-jack en français et fait naître de nouveaux horizons pour elle : on peut aimer la musique mais aussi faire la musique que l'on aime.



Trop jeune pour le suivre déjà sur la route elle suit pourtant attentivement sa carrière et découvre le théâtre qu'elle pratiquera pendant cinq ans. C'est à cette époque qu'elle découvre la scène et y prend goût.



Sa première apparition vocale sera en 1996 sur « le vrai hip-hop ». HASHEEM, persuadé de son talent l'invitera sur cette compilation. Cette collaboration sera la première qui sera suivi la même année d'un featuring sur l'album de ROCCA. Elle fera également ses premières scènes au coté de son frère intégrant la formation scénique Hip-Hop Swing, qui parcourra la France, l'Europe et l'Afrique du Nord.



Elle sera ensuite invitée sur l'album d'Idéal J ce qui ne fera que confirmer son attachement au hip-hop et lui apportera le respect du milieu.

L'Album d'Hasheem , sortit en 1998 chez Arsenal Records , sera bien sur un moment très important de sa carrière car on la retrouve sur la plupart des morceaux aussi bien choriste que réel interprète.



Il sera suivi d'une apparition sur Double H DJ Crew. au côté d'Hasheem et du grand Horace Brown .



Plus récemment Fabrice Génestal , réalisateur de « La Squale » l'a choisie pour être l'interprète du générique de son film. Cette collaboration avec

Cut Killer,Dj Abdel et Diam's sera bien sur une expérience très enrichissante et sera sa première apparition en Solo.



En 2001, sa collaboration avec Kery James sur plusieurs titres de son premier album solo sera très remarquée pour son originalité et la grande sensibilité vocale dont elle fait preuve.



Aujourd'hui elle travaille en étroite collaboration avec son équipe, et sort son premier album « CORRESPONDANCES ».

Zahariya got into music very early in her life. She grew up surrounded by Soul, Funk and Hip-Hop music and built the desire to become an entertainer and to be on stage very soon.



She was raised near Paris and was influenced by her brothers who were DJs ans dancers. During the 90's her family used to organize big parties and that's where she started to get in touch with the Hip-Hop movement.



At a time when the french Rn'b didn't exist as we know it today, her brother Hasheem, became one of the precursors of New Jack in French and made her realise that she could love music but also make the music she loved.



She was too young to go on tour with him but still was following his career attentively. Then she discovered theatre and practiced it for 5 years. That's when she discovered how much she liked being on stage.



Her first appearance was in 1996 on "Le vrai Hip Hop" a hip-hop compilation. Hasheem had faith in her so he invited her on this LP. This was their first collaboration.



It will be followed the same year by a featuring on Rocca's album ( a french eminent rapper now member of the latino-american group Tres Coronas).

She will also make her first performance on stage with her brother's band: Hip-Hop Swing which will cross Europe and North of Africa.



In 1998, Hasheem's first album was a very significant step forward for her career because she appears on many tracks as a chorus but also as a lead singer.



Ideal J (a french rap group), will also invite her on their album. That's when she definitely gained the respect of the french hip-hop lovers.



Zahariya also collaborated with Dj LBR and Big Ali, with Horace Brown but also with Dj Cut Killer, Dj Abdel and Diam's (the most famous french female rapper) for the song of the credit-titles of the movie "La Squale" as her first solo appearance.



Her collaboration with Kery James (a french rapper) will get her very good critics because of her originality.



Today she works in close cooperation with her team on various projects.



Her first solo album "Correspondances" is now avalaible. The first single "Donner l'envie" featuring ROCCA tells her story in paralell with the story of french Hip-Hop. "Correspondances" is a bitter sweet mix between Soul and Hip-Hop, Love and consciousness.
