Generations submit to one true factor and that is 'we must pass the proverbial baton'. In our ever-changing world, rap music and its artists are viewed in a highly critical sense based on word presentation versus the content of truth. Truth be told, passing the baton of word-fusion to syncopated beats has reached an all time high. Rap music has gained the high rank and respect of noteworthy musical and political mentors of the day. It has crossed over throughout a broad spectrum of music genre and is here to stay.
Lex Brown, a gifted word weaver rises as "Da King of Da Sipp" and snatches the baton with refreshing fervor. Out of Starkville, Mississippi he comes forth with 'da raw truth'. This young man exemplifies in his work a new view on age-old life situations. He addresses everyday experiences relative to the survival of our prized and limited species, Black men. As evidenced by on-going and recent revelations of bigotry and hatred due to insecurities of human mind-sets, we must focus on what is being said and why.
Yes, being "hood certified" from the Sipp, has allowed Lex many experiences that our youth, our Black youth in particular, are subjected to simply because their younger, but mostly because their Black. Many other rap artists have paved the way for his global arrival and such is the arrival of destiny. Lex dares to be bold enough to challenge the general population to understand that he's not about disrespecting life, women or God's gifts in any shape or form. Quite to the contrary, the collaboration of verbal and musical talent is combined to tell it like it is.
The core value of achieving growth is always to be open and totally unbiased to the talents and abilities that are God-given and humanly nurtured. Lex is strapped with a genius in presenting raw flavor that merges with raw truth and this is "History in the Making".
