If people in the music industry do not think that the timing is right for Southern rap music, then get prepared to synchronize your watches to this death spitting lyricist from Memphis, Tennessee.
Reared and inspired by a father who is no stranger to the music industry by playing for the likes of Johnny Taylor, Temptations and Al Green, Yung Kee has always done what it takes to make a dollar. His rap game has been cultivated through years of going back and forth from rural and city dwellings due to the instability of a primary family structure. He has produced mad mix tapes in the area and has been featured with artists such as Nakia Shine, Skinny Pimp, Criminal Manne and DJ Squeeky. His cameo appearance on the album of Hustle and Flow artist Nasty Nardo with the single "Don't Watch Me, Watch TV", catapulted his regional success to stardom.
Now, through rigorous grind and total dedication, this artist, who has a swag like a true Memphis hustler, has clocked in to work to show the world how a true lyricist with charisma can lurk in the night and make an album full of everyday living messages. "Everybody always asked me to do features and hooks on their albums and wondered why I did not have an album of my own," Yung Kee states.
His freshman album, "Perfect Timing" is due to be released this fall featuring the hit single, "Problem Wit Me", and it promises to take this patient rapper to the next level. Furthermore, the song "Wut It's Gone Be" is sure to provide listeners on how this artist is taking being "criticized" and "hated on" to the next level. "I am the same dude that don't have to talk about a million dollars to get some attention and I waited patiently to share with the world the book of my life," he says and "you will see the difference."
