‘Ysis’ is an all-girl band with one uniqueness.

Two girls singing close harmony and playing acoustic guitar and the third member plays cello. This creates a fresh and one of a kind sound that is best known as ‘Ysis’.



Their style of music has been compared to the likes of ‘Heather Nova’, ‘The Cranberries’ and ‘Ks Choice’. This is a great compliment, especially considering the ladies are no older than twenty two.



Inge and Sanne, the singer/guitarists, started the band five years ago. Ilse, the celloist, heard them play on a local stage and saw the potential for a unique blend of a classic and modern style of music.



In 2003 ‘Ysis’ won a major national talent contest; ‘The Stimorol Stagemasters Prize’ and from that moment on they became determined and hungry for more. The girls started rehearsing every week and got invited to play bigger and bigger venues, spreading the name ‘Ysis’ everywhere.

In 2005 they supported ‘Intwine’, one of Holland’s leading rock bands, on tour and played various open-air pop festivals and radiostations, like ‘radio 3FM’. ‘Ysis’ also opened a show for ‘Racoon’, another one of Holland’s biggest bands. Then there was a change in the band. Ilse, the chellist, left Ysis and Ilsje, the new chellist, took her place.



Their song ‘Fairytale’ is currently at number one at the MP3 top 5 at MTV The Netherlands, while the single ‘Rose’ is still at number 5!

This Website had more than four million visiters in 2006 alone, combined they checked more than eighteen million artist pages.

‘Ysis’ was mentioned twice in their ‘most popular in 2006’ list.
