Yo y Los Otros' Band members get together around early 2004 when lead singer (Mike) and drummer (Alejandro) were looking for a new band after the one they had been playing with broke up. They started searching for a lead guitar and bass player, and after a couple of months of searching, they found Elias Serpa (Guitar). Elias was perfect for the mix since they were looking to play Ska with a few twists and he had the versatility to back it up. But still they were a bass player-short. After trying out a couple of bass players with no success, Mike remembered a friend he had played with a few times but who was in another band at the moment. Nevertheless Mike extended him an invitation and he accepted to come to a practice. Things just kinda clicked at that time, "Monky" was perfect for the band and was just the thing they needed. Shortly after, his other band dissolved leaving him totally free to become a member of "Yo y Los Otros". The band continued practicing and trying to find their sound, Mike and Alejandro began writing the lyrics they were still lacking and soon after that, they had built up a decent repertoire with their songs and a couple of Reel Big Fish and Mad Caddies covers, as well as The Police.

They started playing anywhere they could, moving at first only through the party scene. Later on, in 2005 they became winners of a "battle of the bands" kind of thing called "Washingstock" and then played to a full house at the "Little Rock Café" The band was surprised with the turnout. Shortly after that, they recorded a 6 song demo which they started selling and passing on. Not too long after that, the band discovered they would be left without a drummer: Alejandro had received a scholarship and was leaving to Virginia.A Couple of months went by trying out a few drummers until they found Fofo (Andres Story) and borrowed him. A bit after, Fofo took off to London leaving Yo y Los Otros, once again, without a drummer. Shortly after that, a new opportunity came in and Don Ungaro filled in the vacant drummer position. Right now, Yo y Los Otros is in the studio recording their first album.
