Young Rampz

Alright in a nutshell



As you are probably aware, I go by the name of Young Rampz! I'm FEMALE, 18 years young and by the grace of God;. the next big thing to 'knockover' the urban music scene. I've done quite a bit here and there, the biggest and best of which was a project with the BBC that resulted in an hour long TV show, broadcasted (Sept 08) and my involvement in the YAC (Youth Against Crime) movement of Newham (Nov 08).

Lately I’ve been hiding my head under water which is mainly due to a close friend of mine who recently enlightened me to the fact that; in order to succeed in music I would have to open my eyes to the world, rather than confine myself to one particular genre and thus widen my comfort zone by incorporating into it elements of other’s music.



However, in saying that I've been keeping a low profile, is not to say that I've not been recording, because I have and alot of it at that- peppered with experimenting! So hopefully, by the time I've finished one won’t be able to consider me as just a FEMALE Hip-Hop/Grime rapper anymore… hopefully. I am still doing PERFORMANCE, SHOW CASES etc so if you know of any, give me a shout.



Anyway I’ve taken a particular liking to the group below, they’re called ‘Mr Hudson and The Library’ founded by Kanye West… give it a listen.

On the 6th September I made my daytime television debut on BBC Switch's 'SCENE STEALERS', an all new teenage challenge show alongside Star’s like Fret Deezy (Mad Love for him) and presented by Jeff Leach. It was a hell of an experience to say the least. 48hrs of sheer laughter, work and networking. N dubbed by the BBC as 'One of Peckham's rising young Hip Hop stars'.



For this experience, I would like to say a sincere thank-you to; Sophie (BBC Producer), Lilly (BBC), Naomi (Alchemy Televison), Jeff Leach, Frey Deezy (U Channel), Nikita aka Elegange, Joshua aka Young J, Jenna G (Radio1), Vis (Radio1), Stig of the Dump, Dex-man and Swifturk; without whom none of this would be possible.
