In the 1980’s South Florida was the main port for cocaine shipments, resulting in heavy drug activities in poverty stricken neighborhoods. For most young black families living in the tri-county area of Broward, Dade and Palm Beach counties for South Fl. drug dealing was a means to an end to feed their families or just to stay alive. As a child Yung Durrty was accustomed to his harsh environment growing up around murderers, drug dealers, and street violence. “Growing up in Fl. wasn’t anything around but dope scrolls(areas where crack was sold), the ones riding on the big rims and big body old school was considered the neighborhood dope boy. The way most of these industry cats rap about the street, I was actually living it”, stated Yung Durrty. Similar to most young black men growing up, Yung Durrty found his self hustling in the rough streets he grew up in. For this artist the street life was more practical and started engaging in several activities leading him towards a life down the fast lane.

Unlike most hustlers around him Yung Durrty had a fondness for music. He grew up listening to various types of sounds ranging from the soulful pop music of Michael Jackson to the harsh reality of “The Street Life” of the Ghetto Boyz, Tupac, Trick Daddy, and had been rapping since the age of ten. “I really got serious about rapping around the age of twenty years old. At the time I was heavy in the streets, selling drugs, in the middle of shoot outs….I needed a change, and I felt God gave me a gift to bless myself as well as my people around me”. The rapper decided to named his self off a slang used around the hood; “Durrty was an expression used around the neighborhood as “What’s Happening Durrty”, instead of using Nigga to acknowledge a friend or homeboy, we called Florida the Durrty south, so Yung Durrty was created but I wasn’t rapping then I was just using it as my signature describing me representing South Fl.” In June 2000 Yung Durrty hooked up with a long-time child hood friend Tk after his release from prison and started their own collaboration called Poe Gangsta, “TK was PG1 and I was PG 2 we made two mix tapes “Getting 2 The Money” and “Durrty Cane”, in 2001 TK introduced Yung Durrty to “Goldrush”, currently a producer for Trick Daddy’s label Dunk Riders, the two started collaborating and produced Yung Durty’s solo album “Welcome to the Bottom”, which was released in 2005 independently along with his “Down South Correlation” mix tape under his old label C.O.D Recorders (Cash On Delivery).

In June 2005, Yung Durrty decided to start his new label “Durrty Folk Entertainment” and publishing company with ASCAP “Straight Up Inc”, along with networking and performing in various clubs and open mics thru out da south such as atlanta ,north carolina ,texas, alamba to promote and expose his music to the streets.

Yung Durrty is currently recording his new mixtape “IM ON MY GRIND MIXTAPE VOL 1 ”along wit his new hit single 'IM ON MY GRIND' and feels there’s nothing that can stop his dream from becoming a reality. “I’m constantly writing and recording new songs, for me sleep isn’t an option, my music is my salvation, creation, and occupation”. ANT IT DOU.954 FOR THE '2010' IM ON MY GRIND
