Hailing out of Oakland, raised between there and San Francisco, California where artists like E-40, Too $hort & Mistah F.A.B. are known for the "Hyphy Movement", Yogy is bringing a fresh ambition, lyricism and sound out of the Bay Area. Coming from a broken home and a rough upbringing, change, diversity and self-determination is what Yogy's music embodies. His sound is eclectic and versatile, you will hear a wide range of genres encompassed in his music. Yogy began his career in 2007, releasing a single entitled, "Dreads and Tapers", that featured various upcoming Bay Area artists with production by Super Dave and T-Case, which gained him a lot of buzz and attention. In 2008, Yogy was voted Myspace Artist of the Month (August). Yogy relocated to Los Angeles for a few years to take his career further, creating the single "Im Dope", which attracted 45,000 unique YouTube views. Yogy is now gearing up to release his first-full length project, Kings Wear Crowns.
With Legends such as San Francisco's own Big Rich and the face of Oakland, Too $hort stating that "He's the next big thing out of the Bay Area", his career looks promising for the near future. Keep an eye out for the self-proclaimed born King, Yogy.
