Yakuzi, Sal taldea martxan zegoela sortu zen, 1998. urte bukaeran. Gustavo Gallegok jarri zuen martxan taldea, berak konposatutako kantuak
beste proiektu batera bideratuz. Yakuzi, partaide bakarra izanda (baxua, ahotsak eta programaketak) hainbat maketa egin zituen eta kritika oso onak jaso zituen. Kritika hauekin batera, Almeriako Pause Music disketxea, diska bat grabatzeko aukera eman zion ta lan hau aurrera eramateko, Sal-eko taldekideekin (Anartz Onandia -bateria - eta Aitor Monje -kitarra-) aurrera eraman zen proiektua.
2001. urte bukaeran grabatu zen diska hau, "Yakuzi" izenburupean eta Yakuzi taldea hirukote bezala osotu zen. 5 kanta eta 33 minutuko diskoa (mini-cd), kritika onak jaso zituen baina diskoaren edizioa berandutu egin zen eta azkenean, 2003ko Apirilean kaleratu zen. Bitartean, Kimetz Zenitagoia (kitarra eta koroak) eta IkerAsenjo (flauta ta kitarra) bat egin zuten taldera, batez ere zuzenekoetan pentsatuz.
2003. urtean kontzertu gutxi batzuk eskeini genituen eta Urrian, Iker Asenjo Eskoziara ikastera joan zen, bere ordez Gorka Molero (kitarra) sartzen da taldean. Urte bereko Abenduan bigarren diskoa grabatu genuen, 10 kantaz osatua eta "Ibai lehorretan itota" izenburupean. Diska hau ere Almeriako Pause Music disketxearekin grabatua eta kaleratua izan zan.
Duela urtebete inguru, Kimetz Zenitagoiak taldea utzi eta Yakuzi laukote bihurtu zen, gaur egungo formazioa osatuz. Aldaketa honekin, kontzertuak alde batera utzi eta diskako kantuak, laukotera moldatu genituen. Lan hau egin ostean, berriro kontzertuak ematera ekin genion.
2006ko Bilbo hiria pop rock lehiaketan parte hartu, ta lehenengo saria eramatea lortu genuen, estatuko talderik onenaren saria ere irabaziz.
2007ko abenduan argia ikusten du taldearen hirugarren diska "Hot Balneario" izenpean. 2008ko urtarrilatik aurrera dendetan salgai. Berrizko Estoldetan estudioetan grabatua, nahastua eta masterizatua salbuespen batzuekin aurrenahasketa batzuetan, Tolosako Bonberenean eginda izan zirela. Prozesu guztia 2007ko maiatza eta abuztua artean landu da, Karlos Osinaga mahaian zegoela. Diska honen produkzioa Karlos bera eta taldearen artean burutu da.



2007ko bigarren eta 2008ko lehen erdietan Yakuzi-k "Hot Balneario" bere diska aurkezten du Euskal Herri eta Espainiako estatu guztitik zehar. 2008ko urte erdian gelditzea erabakitzen dute zehazgabeko denbora baterako; denbora hori erabiliko dute, beste gauza batzuen artean, bere hurrengo diskarako abestiak sortzeko.



2008ko udaren ostean, Yakuzi-k bere diska berria izango denaren konposaketara jotzen du.

Yakuzi, se creó durante la andadura del grupo Sal, a finales de 1998. Gustavo Gallego fué quien puso el grupo en marcha para dar cabida a sus canciones en un nuevo proyecto. Yakuzi, siendo único componente (Gustavo Gallego -Bajo, Voz y Programaciones-) pero con la ayuda de los componentes de Sal (Anartz Onandia -batería- y Aitor Monje -guitarra-), editan tres demos.



Estas demos reciben excelentes críticas, y llaman así la atención del sello almeriense Pause Music, que invita a la banda a formar parte de su catálogo y grabar un disco. Yakuzi, el disco, se graba en diciembre de 2001 ya con Anartz y Aitor acompañando a Gus en la formación. Dicho mini-cd (5 temas; 33 minutos) recibe unas críticas excelentes, aunque tarda mucho en ser editado. La edición se produce en abril de 2003, y para entonces la banda ya tiene formación de directo, con la incorporación de Kimetz Zenitagoia (guitarra, coros) y de Iker Asenjo (flauta travesera, guitarra).



En octubre del 2003, Iker marcha a estudiar a Escocia, dejando su puesto en la formación a Gorka Molero (guitarra). En el mes de diciembre de 2003, yakuzi graban su segundo disco, compuesto por 10 temas, titulado Ibai lehorretan itota. En el mes de mayo de 2004, Participan en el festival Primavera Sound de Barcelona, Junto a grupos como Mudhoney, P.J. Harvey y Pixies. Ese mismo día se publica su segundo disco Ibai lehorretan itota. Durante 2004 la banda ofrece numerosos conciertos, a la vez que cosecha excelentes críticas por su trabajo. Así mismo, Ibai lehorretan itota es escogido en las listas de los mejores discos de 2004 en diversas publicaciones escritas y páginas web, como en la revista Entzun! (7º mejor disco del 2004), en el suplemento Zarata de Mondo Sonoro (entre los 10 mejores álbumes vascos), muzikalia (21º mejor disco nacional), nadadora (3º mejor disco nacional), Desconcierto (entre lo mejor del 2004), nosoloemo (3º mejor disco y 3ª mejor canción nacional) y varios medios más a nivel nacional.En abril de 2005 Kimetz (guitarrista) deja la banda debido a motivos laborales y Yakuzi se convierte en cuarteto, formación actual.



En el 2006, participamos en el concurso "Villa de Bilbao", obteniendo el primer premio en la modalidad pop-rock, y mejor banda estatal.



En diciembre de 2007 se edita su tercer trabajo discográfico, titulado "Hot Balneario". Está en las tiendas a partir de enero de 2008. Grabado, mezclado y masterizado en los estudios Estoldetan de Berriz y realizadas algunas mezclas previas en Bonberenea (Tolosa). Todo este proceso ha tenido lugar entre los meses de mayo y agosto de 2007, con Karlos Osinaga en la mesa. La producción de este disco ha sido compartida por Karlos y el grupo.



La segunda mitad de 2007 y la primera de 2008 transcurren para Yakuzi presentando "Hot Balneario" a lo largo y ancho de Euskal Herria y del estado español. A mediados de 2008 deciden hacer un alto y tomarse una temporada de descanso, tiempo que emplearán entre otras cosas, para componer los temas que formarán parte del nuevo disco de Yakuzi.



Tras el verano de 2008, Yakuzi comienzan a componer las canciones de lo que será el larga duración de la banda.

Yakuzi is founded during the lifetime of the group SAL, at the end of 1998.
Gustavo Gallego starts to compose his new songs on a new project. Being its only member (Gustavo Gallego, bass, voice and programming) but with the help of the members of SAL (Anartz Onaindia at the drums and Aitor Monje playing guitars) edits three demos. These records are clapped by the media and the label Pause, placed in Almeria, puts the attention on the band and invites it to get involved on the label and record the first musical work. (7th album of 2004), the add-on Zarata of the Mondo Sonoro (among the 10 best basque works), Muzikalia (21st best national album), Nadadora (3rd best national album), Desconcierto (among best of 2004), Nosoloemo (3rd best work and 3rd best song) and many more. On april 2005, Kimetz (guitars) leaves the band and Yakuzi moves to fourtet, its nowadays format.
During 2006, the band takes part on the european "Villa de Bilbao" contest and wins the first prize on pop-rock style and best band from the state.
In december 2007 the bands third musical work, titled "hot balneario", is released. Its in all the stores from January 2008 on. Recorded, mixed and mastered in Estoldetan (Berriz) despite some pre-mixing was done in Bonberenea (Tolosa). All this proccess has taken place between May and August 2007, with Karlos Osinaga behind the table. Production of the record has been shared by Karlos and the band as well.



During the second half of 2007 and early 2008 Yakuzi present "Hot Balneario" all over the Basque Country and the Spanish State. In mid-2008 they decide to take a rest, time to be used, among other things, for composing the themes that will form part of the new record.



After the summer 2008, Yakuzi begins to compose the songs for what will be the band's new record.
