YAGE started about five years ago in Cologne, Germany, and if you ask us, they achieved pretty much in this period of time. The debut 7" came out in february 99' and they started to play shows, getting more and more attention and developing their own style. Do you remember a couple of years ago, where "emo" was an emotional, powerful outburst of energy and not that college-rock type of thing ? Bands like SHOTMAKER, 400 YEARS, PORTRAITS OF PAST, AGE, ASSAY, INDIAN SUMMER, ICONOCLAST and more, bands who moved people and had a strong message besides the music. well you can set YAGE somewhere between those bands with an exception that they do not sound "retro", mixing the classical influences with a good portion of modern sounded hardcore.
After releasing a full length in march 00', another split 7" and touring across Germany, France, Spain, UK, Benelux, Italy, US, playing with such bands as THE ROBOCOP KRAUS, 400 YEARS, REVERSAL OF MAN, SPY VERSUS SPY, KURT, CREATION IS CRUCIFIXION, MILEMARKER, AT THE DRIVE IN and many more. several releases later :a 10" on CODE OF ETHICS a 7" on LEVEL PLANE and a couple of split 7"s YAGE are goinng to tour japan with ENVY in september hopefully with the new album, which has been almost recorded by now.
YAGE ended as a band in august 2004, thanks to everybody!
