Svetlana "Ceca" Ražnatovic (born Svetlana Velickovic on June 14, 1973) is the most popular female singer from Serbia and Montenegro. Initially, musical genre that launched her into stardom was turbofolk, whereas lately, her sound can be described as pop-folk.



She was born and grew up in the town of Žitorada near Prokuplje in southern Serbia. Her career began in 1988 with the hit song "Nagging Flower" (Cvetak zanovetak). At the age of 22 she married Željko Ražnatovic - Arkan, a Serbian paramilitary leader accused of war crimes by International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, who was assassinated on January 15, 2000 in Belgrade. She currently lives in Belgrade with her two children (son Veljko and daughter Anastasija.). She is most popular in the Balkans (Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Macedonia, Greece, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria and Croatia).



In June 2002 she held a live concert in a stadium of Marakana in front of 80,000 fans. Same year she held a live concert in a stadium of Borac, Banja Luka, Republika Srpska in front of 30,000 fans. In 2005, she released an album titled London mix that contains remixed songs from her last albums. On December 31, 2005, as part of the New Year's celebration, she staged a free concert in Niš. This event was reportedly attended by more than 80,000 people. She performed in Slovenia in the Tivoli Hall in front of 10,000 people and she held the biggest concert in Macedonia in a stadium (50,000 people attended that concert).
