XESS is not a new name in dark music scene, but mostly known only near the Baltic sea in Eastern Europe. The band was formed in Kaunas (Lithuania) in 2001 after gothic metal rockers Liunuosna split up. During nine years of their existence, XESS were three times confirmed as the best Lithuanian gothic / darkwave act. The band also had few performances on local TV shows. Besides they had many live performances on festivals in their homeland and abroad (including Castle Party 2008 in Poland ). In their first self-released MCD "In Cyber Lust" (which was presented in 2002 in Latvia) the band presented raw synthetic dance metal performed by 2 guitars, synthesizers, drums+bass machine and male/female voices. In 2005 XESS added a live bass player and in the end of the year a self-released 1st long playing album „Psychoholic Bastard Crew" came to be. (digipack CD). After some time the sound started to change piece by piece: guitars became more heavier and lower, industrial dancable influences began to fade, female elements were erased and the whole atmosphere became darker. XESS updated the rhythm section with a live drummer at 2007's autumn. The work on a 3rd album's recordings had begun. Guitars and bass was recorded at Phoenix Studio (Latvia) in October 2007, but vocals and other stuff weren't finnished until the beginning of 2010. At the end of 2008 XESS decided to make a break from live performances 'till the new album was released. At April 24th of 2010 in collaboration with indie label Atra Musica XESS had released 2nd long playing album"We, the Great Newrotics" Nowdays these Lithuanian guys are working on new material and looking for any possibility to release the new album. Besides XESS musicians also are actively taking (and also did that before) parts in other bands and projects, like K.A.N.G., Luctus, Angis, Anapilis, Mogadishu, Dreamland Poetry, Poccolus, Mano Juodoji Sesuo or Siela.
