There are hundreds of well-known lines, which were all dedicated and written only to express one simple fact: a drug free lifestyle improves, and will even save lives. Through their lyrics, appearance, and behavior,these bands want to show why the abstinence of drugs improves your life. But why does it REALLY improve your life?



The problem nowadays is that drinking is simply a socially acceptable thing to do. People drink and numb themselves on a daily basis because they think it’s ok to drink, it is what society expects them to do.



We all know certain situations, so called "state occasions", where people appear to be under pressure to drink and if you don't, you’re looked at as if you were some kind of freak. But would things be any different if you didn't? Can you clink glasses with only alcohol? This example shows how much alcohol has become accepted, how deep it is rooted in our society,and in our behaviour. And because of this very acceptance it is the reason why the inhibition threshold is as low as it is today. People just don’t think about why they are drinking, they just do it. But you need to think about it, and get the facts straight, alcohol takes more lives than all illegal drugs put together.



Drugs destroy our society's future and there is no possible way of ignoring this threatening development. We will not, and should not, accept any more trivialization. So we should find our own way to rise against, to think for ourselves. We found our way in becoming Straight Edge, in becoming passionate about life. But we don't want you to become Straight Edge necessarily, we just want you to be aware of what kind of impact drugs have on your life. Take some time to think about why things are how they are and why people do what they do and choose your own way, Straight Edge or not.
