ILL POETIX

ILL POETIX is a trio of brothers who bring something truly unique to the world of HIP HOP and the music world at large. The 4th, 808 (STOP1), and IVISUAI have roots that stretch from "BRICK CITY," Newark, NJ to the deep south of Jackson MS, and all points in between. These roots stretch even further back to Africa, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.

ILL POETIX provide a grade of HIP HOP for people that prefer quality. Like all the greatest music of any genre, ILL POETIX fuse a full spectrum of musical influences, tones + textures into a mix that never leaves the HIP HOP foundation.

The lyrical content is strictly conscious and always real, for ILL POETIX have no need for contrived pretenses or gimmicks. What they say comes from the heart and from keen + insightful observation of reality; the contrast between the real world + the fake.Is it Money or Love? The "From Forgotten Grounds" album is just a taste of ILL P, but what a strong taste it is! (pause). Spicing up the mix is ASSASSIN (S. Cali), recently released and currently on parole.

I think enough has been said. Words can say but so much. Check the music out and feel it. Listen to it. Meditate on it. Act on it. Repeat. Tell all your friends and family that realness is alive + well, currently living in College Park, MD. My man Eric beat me to punch in letting the world know about the dopeness of "The Touch", but that's alright, as this song needs to be heard.



Unfortunately, there is not a lot on this free EP, but this is some GREAT music. Produced by Sci-Fi (who you might remember doing some production for Tha Connection) out of Scotland, this three man group out of Washington DC just brings the classic hip hop sound.
