In a culture that seems all too content to ignore the atrocities, injustices, andcontradictions of the world, Madison, Wisconsin’s KNOW BOUNDARIESassaults the ears of listeners and offers them the opportunity to “eat the redpill” and truly see the reality of the world around them.
By combining the mediums of Hiphop and rock into an organic, modern, tour-de-force, KNOW BOUNDARIES takes listeners on a musical ride exposingthem to a wide variety of musical and intellectual influences. Fusing the“boom-bap” of THE ROOTS, the sonic freedom of The Mars Volta, thebombastic energy of ONYX, the intellectual curiosity of Saul Williams, therawness of Rage Against The Machine, and the fluid creativity of JackKerouac, KNOW BOUNDARIES creates a distinctly unique, yet completelyaccessible sound that is sure to ‘maraud for ears’ at an astonishing rate.
Since forming only a few years ago, response to KNOW BOUNDARIES hasbeen immediate, and their resume abounds with awards and accolades. Inonly a short time, they have garnered national label interest, receivedcorporate sponsorship through Budweiser’s “True Music” program, showcasedat numerous industry conferences, received the Madison Area Music Awardfor Best Hiphop Group or Artist, & for Madison’s Best Hiphop/Urban Song in2007 for the live version of "the slingblade" (listen above), and opened up fornationally touring groups such as THE ROOTS, the Black Eyed Peas,Cypress Hill, the Gin Blossoms, Sound Tribe Sector Nine, 3 Days Grace,Caroline Spine,Buckcherry, Fastball, & Something Corporate.
Unlike many genre-blending groups, KNOW BOUNDARIES gets props fromboth Hiphop and rock camps. The six members of the band are well-educated, articulate musicians that bring their own individual vibes to thetable resulting in the one-of-a-kind KNOW BOUNDARIES sound.
