For many years now BABAYAGA have been at the very top of Germany's ska scene and are considered to be one of it's best and most active bands. They have also managed to built a strong international reputation which keeps constantly expanding! The music on Funky Drop is a creative mix of old Jamaican Ska and Reggae as well as the modern interpretation of these styles. Ska and Reggae form the foundation of Babayaga's music but on Funky Drop you can also find elements of funk, latin, pop and jazz – skillfully mixed in! The band has a high live reputation and has managed to capture the tremendous and exciting energy of their live performances in the studio. The result: An excellently produced and intoxicating album!
