Woody’s energy explodes on stage. With a voice and performance that defines confidence and passion, Woody Bradshaw is tearing down the walls of the country scene with the firm foundation of his versatile new project. It’s impossible not to feel the lightning that Woody captures in each lyric and story. “Producer Jeff Nystrom and I landed some rocking melodies and fresh storylines on this album,” says Woody. Nystrom, the producer and engineer that has directed the sound of A-list clientele including Celine Dion, found one of Nashville’s best kept secrets when he happened up on Woody. This album is hard to resist listening to over and over again as you can’t wait to hear the next song.

Born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, some of Woody’s fondest memories are of family gatherings, singing with his brother at the piano, and driving around with his grandfather in a beat up truck listening to country music. Woody’s ability to be both athletic and artistic is indicative of the energy he exudes. He was an outstanding athlete, much like his father, whom Woody says characterized a combination of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. On the other side, his mother, an English Literature and Drama teacher, encouraged his poetic interests through the music and lyrics of Jimmy Webb (By the Time Get to Phoenix, Galveston and MacArthur Park) and the words of Robert Frost. Jimmy Webb would later play an instrumental roll in Woody’s life.

Woody went to college on a tennis scholarship, discovered theater, and was accepted into the prestigious B.F.A. program at Florida State University. Acting provided another outlet for his creative expression. As is typical for Woody, he set his sights high and went straight to New York City where within three months, he landed a role on an ABC daytime drama. Shortly thereafter he caught the eye of the notable manager, who was responsible for the discovery of Tom Cruise. After two years in New York City, Woody relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his film career. During a short period of time, he landed a handful of commercials and several television spots. It was during this time that Woody found out his childhood influence, Jimmy Webb, would be playing at the Roosevelt Hotel. “Seeing him was a defining moment in my life. I had always been a singer, but songwriting was something I hadn’t discovered yet. Once I opened that door to my emotions, I couldn’t stop. Writing became my greatest passion and the vision for something bigger started to grow”.

Woody decided to place a hold on his acting career so he could put his heart and soul into his music and moved to his current home in Nashville. “At first I felt like a green-horn, because the talent here in Nashville is so deep, but it made me dig my boots deeper in the dirt to find my own unique style as a writer and combine that with what sets me apart as a performer. Both of which I think are featured powerfully on this latest album. I’ve come a long way from acting out songs on the radio in my parent’s living room,” laughs Woody.

From TV to syndicated radio and venues across the nation, Woody’s charisma and commanding presence is leaving a lasting impression. He’s already donned the pages of Country Weekly, been voted as “Complete Woman’s Magazine” hottest bachelor, hosted the Florida TV series “Beach TV” and has opened for Craig Morgan, Darryl Worley, Trent Tomlinson and Keith Anderson. The new package Woody had created is set to be the game winning ace that swings Woody onto the national scene.
