Biographie
Die Geburtsstunde von Wintermond war der Anfang des Jahres 2004. Zuerst war es nur als ein reines Soloprojekt von Bandgruender Didic gedacht, in welchem er sich nach der Aufloesung seiner vorherigen Band vor allem den eigenen musikalischen Ideen und dem Home- und Studiorecording widmen wollte. Aus dem Soloprojekt wurde dann jedoch bald ein Duo, als Gabrielle 2005 fuer die Female-Vocal-Parts dazustiess. Damit hatte sich der Kern von Wintermond zusammengefunden, auch wenn zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch niemand daran gedacht haette, dass daraus einmal eine komplette Band wachsen wuerde.
Zusammen brachten beide im Verlauf des Winters 2005/2006 ihren ersten Demo-Longplayer als CD Miniauflage heraus. "Blutrot" bekam auf Anhieb gutes Feedback und war durch eigene Vermarktung in kuerzester Zeit vergriffen.
Doch der wirkliche Startschuss fuer die weitere Entwicklung kam ein Jahr spaeter. Mit "Ein Tropfen Seligkeit" erschien der zweite Demo-Longplayer des Duos, der ebenfalls wie "Blutrot" zum Internetdownload bereitgestellt wurde. Mit diesem bewarben sich Didic und Gabrielle fuer Wintermond 2007/2008 beim "SonicSeducer’s Battle of the Bands Contest", bei dem es Didic mit seinem Nebenprojekt "Judas Kuss" ein Jahr zuvor bereits ins Mittelfeld der Leserwahl geschafft hatte. Mit dem Ergebnis haben beide jedoch bei weitem nicht gerechnet: Der Song "Fuer die Ewigkeit" kam nicht nur unter die Top 50 und nahm damit am Contest teil, sondern das Ergebnis war ueberraschend Platz 1 und sprengte damit jede Erwartung!
Unter dem Eindruck des Erfolgs und der Verantwortung fuer alle Fans und Waehler, beschlossen beide sich zusammen an die schwierige Aufgabe zu setzen nun aus Wintermond eine komplette Band zu formen, welche auch Live auftreten konnte. Im Laufe des Jahres 2008 begann die Suche.
Luk konnte bald schon durch Bekanntschaft zu Gabrielle als Lead Gitarrist gewonnen werden. Julian meldete sich auf eine Anzeige hin und wurde kurz darauf der Drummer der Band. Als letztes kam Chris dann Anfang 2009 durch Einladung von Julian zu Wintermond und spielt seitdem den Bass.
Somit war die Band endlich komplett und der Weg in die Zukunft war geebnet.
Im Laufe des Jahres 2009 ueberschlugen sich die Ereignisse: Wintermond erhielt einen Vertrag mit dem Label "Danse Macabre" und spielte daraufhin im Herbst/Winter ihr erstes kommerzielles Studioalbum "Desiderium" ein, welches Anfang 2010 erschien und alle bisherigen Veroeffentlichungen der Band an Qualitaet und Aufwand uebertraf. Musikalisch hat Wintermond damit einen neuen Schritt nach vorne gemacht und ist als Band harmonisch zusammengewachsen. (CF 2009-2010)

Wintermond's Hour of Birth was the first half of the year 2004. In the beginning, after the breakup of his former band, it was meant as a solo project of the band founder Didic, who wanted to rather spend some time on his own musical ideas and the home and studio recording. Soon in 2005, as Gabrielle joined for the female vocal parts, a duo emerged from the formerly solo-project. With this, the core membership of Wintermond had joined together, even though at this point nobody could foresee that from this a whole band would evolve later.
Together, in the progress of the winter 2005/2006, they launched their first demo long-player "Blutrot" ("Bloodred") as a cd mini edition. "Blutrot" was receiving good feedback from the start and through self marketing, became soon out of stock.
But a real starting signal for the development yet to come was given one year later. Then, with "Ein Tropfen Seligkeit" ("a drop of blessedness") the second longplayer of the duo came out, which like "Blutrot" was uploaded for public-download on the net. With this, Didic and Gabrielle competed 2007/2008 for Wintermond at the "Sonic Seducers's Battle of the Bands Contest" at which, with his side project "Judas Kuss" ("Juda's Kiss"), Didic already achieved a middle high ranking at the readers's choice. But both haven't had reckoned with the result: not only the song "Fuer die Ewigkeit" ("For Eternity") achieved a place among the top 50 for which it therefore partook at the contest, but the result for this surprisingly was rank 1, breaking every expectation that might have been made!
Considering the impression of success and liability for every fan and voter, the two decided together to undertake the difficult task to form a complete band out of Wintermond, which also could perform live music. In the progress of the year 2008 the search began.
Through acquaintanceship to Gabrielle, Luk could be won over as the lead guitarist. Julian attended to an announcement and soon after this became the band's drummer. At last, Chris took his place as Wintermond's bass player in the beginning of 2009, joining there after an invitation of Julian.
So, the band was complete at last and the future's way prepared.
In the progress of the year 2009, the events rolled over: Wintermond signed a contract with the label "Danse Macabre" and therefore recorded their first commercial studio album "Desiderium" in Fall/Winter 2010 which will turned up in the beginning of 2010 and surpassed all former announcements comparing quality and expenditure. Musically Wintermond undertook another step forward and grew toghether very harmonically.
