Sean Gardner produces pop songs full of simple, catchy melodies under the moniker Winter Makes Sailors. The songs are often of the slower breed, with a nod to both shoe-gaze greats and North-American folk heroes.
Sean Gardner originally started Winter Makes Sailors as a songwriting project. But, after playing a few shows, friends started asking for more and it's become a main focus. You can catch W.M.S. solo or as a live band. When the full band is in tow, he incorporates drums, bass, keys, lap steel, violin, trumpet, synth exploration, vibraphones and guitars.
Sean has been playing in the Columbus, Ohio music scene for just over a decade and touring regionally the whole time. In addition to the Winter Makes Sailors project, he currently shares the stage and studio with bandmates in Melty Melty and The Receiver. In the past year he released records from now dissolved bands Kopaz, and Bookmobile. He stays very busy.
