DJ Wilsson Soto



Autocratic and D.i.Y driven DJ/producer/label manager and promoter Wilsson Soto has been involved with the progressive music
scene since the early 90's. He emerged as a DJ from the hip hop and drum & bass scene of Sweden.
Being a raw vinyl addict Wilsson Soto began his musical voyage as a record collector
at an early age inspired by his father's wide-range-collection.



After years of vinyl bagging Wilsson Soto bought his first set of turntable decks in the mid 90's. At the age of 16 he held his first residency
at the local rare grooves bar inspired by his older friends. He also began to arrange his own underground
parties named "Funk of Fury" inviting local house, hip hop and drum & bass DJs.
In 1997 he was signed to Sweden's largest booking agency as DJ and promoter playing house/disco music
from the north to the south. One year later he moved to Oslo, Norway to take over the management
of Scandinavia's largest vinyl store HS Records. During his time in Oslo he also arranged parties
at the legendary jazz club Blaa and promoting smaller techno and house parties.
His own imprint Funk of Fury Recordings had by this time signed Sci-Clone as their first release.
And Wilsson himself released his first 12" produced and recorded in Oslo at the famous Krise
Studio. When he broke up with Oslo he moved back to Sweden to focus on
Funk of Fury and DJing. Now Funk of Fury is one of the hottest crossover labels mixing artists
from different dance scenes. The second release was Bugz In The Attics Alex Phountzi and
Beat Junkies DJ and vocalist Xantone Blacq remixed by Daz-I-Kue and Marcus Intalex & St. Files.
And now hot on the heels the ubiquitous jazz musician and producer Mark de Clive-Lowe and
Philly soul-queen Lady Alma Horton. This release also hightlighted by another world star producer
and remixer Recloose.



Looking ten years back and reflecting over the achievements, Wilsson Soto's illuminated music
career has always been focusing on pushing the sounds of alternative music and art. His point of
direction has been to promote the sound and the artist rather than himself.
