"White Birds & Lemons surprised early arrivals with their electronica-laced layered pop nous. Impressively, the Auckland-bred, Melbourne-based quartet's second performance of the night involved each member switching instruments. They played an excellent set, which included songs from their three-track download-only EP, Birdland. Although half the band members initially appeared somewhat fashionista inclined, their music defied expectations with it's flourishing synth-pop/post-punk arrangements, cleverly textured melodies, and multi-layered percussive rhythms."
