Wet iguana was formed a little while ago when Link decided to buy an Iguana. Dylan was over one night when they were jamming, and he spilled some water on Link's iguana. Then, Dylan said "that there is a wet iguana". Link agreed. And they both said together, let's call something "WET IGUANA". So we said let's call a band "wet iguana". And then we were like, "we're like a band, aren't we?"

"Yeah, we're like a band, called the Wet Iguanas". And Link was like, "no, it's just "WET IGUANA".

After a little while writing songs together, we decided that we needed to fill out the band for the live show, and brought in two proper and full members: Danny Devries is an amazing drummer with an incredible talent for atmosphere and a great songwriter too. Scott Currie, whom we affectionately refer to as "The Kid" almost needs no introduction. A guy who has an implicit sense of what rocks could only play guitar with us, and it's often Scotty's noodling that ends up as the catalyst for a lot of new songs being written. The last piece of the puzzle is a man by the name of Tyler "T.Rex" Heffernan. Tyler is a very talented musician, able to play multiple instruments, though he lends his hefty axe to WI. His inclusion marks the fifth and final** (--in fact, Danny felt a calling for politics in Ottawa and now acts as the Governor General's personal assistant) member of the godhand. So, later, our good friend Thom Drew decided to help us out and has lent his considerable drumming skills to us since.

Of course, the more electronic element has fallen off a bit as we have developed a more live and organic rock show. Somehow, though, the original spirit of Wet Iguana has been conserved.

You can see Wet Iguana dish up their careful blend of classic rock guitar, disco punk bass lines, led zeppelin four on the floor drumming, and soulful, tortured crooning at your local bar, residence hall, or house party. We will play anywhere with anyone.
