The West End Girls came together in their late teens as Henderson (19), MacKenzie (16) and Petrozzi (17) [previously with Big Bottom Swing] were groomed by songwriters John Dexter (Alias, Chicago), and John Livingston. The duo owned Johnny Jet Records and like all emprisario's decided to create a group in the classic Hollywood tradition -- by manufacturing them. The band was also managed by Vancouver heavy weight Lou Blair.



Dexter hand-picked the Girls in 1990 and groomed them as the trio Anne, Marie & Lisa. After he wrote the majority of their material along with music assistance from keyboardist John Webster for their self-toteld debut on Johnny Jet/A & M.



After the trio began taking vocal, dance and image lessons (directed by Camille's father, the legendary Bill Henderson from Chilliwack) their chemistry was such that it was no longer three separate strangers but a vocal group and Dexter changed their name to the West End Girls.



The act became teen sensations with the hits "Not Like Kissing You" and a remake of the Jackson 5 classic "I Want You Back".



Petrozzi left shortly after the first album and was replaced by Janele Woodley and shortly before the release of the second album Henderson left for a solo career. Her replacement was Celia-Louse Martin. By the summer of 1993, their second album We Belong Together' was released and featured the hits "R U Sexin' Me", "State Of The Heart" and "Pure (You're Touching Me)". The group split up in 1994.
