On May 16, 1988, in the city of La Vega, Dominican Republic an upcoming star was
born.
Webster Batista son of Jose Batista and Yoselin Baez, was born on May 16, 1988, in a
small town called La Vega in the Dominican Republic. La Vega was a small farming
town, a town full of desperation.
Webster Batista grew up in the mean streets of D.R. By the age of 10, Webster was
forced to go out in the work force to survive the hunger of normal everyday life. He
found himself working at a bakery company, doing retail and as a mechanic.
At age 13, Webster was passing through a time when most young adults find
themselves being influenced by drugs, gangs and other temptations. Raised by
grandma, Webster became a uncontrollable teenager. One day he found himself in a
crossroad and decided to change his life, this decision turn his life around positively.
One of the past times that helped him get out of the negative world was sports, in
particular Baseball, he got so involved with baseball he almost went national.
Having a father who was recognized as one of the top on-air jocks of Super K radio,
Webster got an opportunity to perform at a local D.R festival called Talento De La Voz,
his first taste of his hidden talent. Webster won 3rd place out of 20 contestants,
allowing him to win the hearts of the locals and also the baptism of his artist name
Webster “EL NENE BOMBA”.
The talent show win, gave Webster an opportunity to record a song demo. Webster
found his first love “MUSIC”. From that day forward, Webster knew that music was his
life passion, this gave him a chance to express himself to the world. He also found
himself being influenced by artist like NSYNC, Michael Jackson, Puff Daddy (a.k.a
PDiddy) and Los Temerarios from Mexico City.
His dream finally came true by 2003, at age 15. Webster was
reunited with his mother in Phoenix, Arizona. He was very appreciative due to the
opportunities that this country gave. This gave him a chance to pursue his education
and his music career.
In 2005 Webster and Chez Zabala “El Matatan” formed a group called N-V. By 2006
Webster decided to go as a solo artist and was able to connect with one of Arizona’s
hottest producers and re-mixers Joe Zazueta and Melvin Johnson from ZAYA STUDIOS
L.L.C/THIRD EYE PRODUCTIONS. From that day forward they developed one of the
hottest sounds in the Valley of the Sun based out of the Latin Urban Industry.
In 2006, Webster came out with his first solo single “Hueso” or “Bone”, the first radio
station that played on rotation “Hueso” was 95.1 FM Latino Vibe in Phoenix Arizona,
with the full support of the Programming Director Josh Villa and Promotions Director
Fernando Gomez
Webster goal is to change the face of reggaeton, by adding a pop
and multicultural sound. This addition will allow every listener to appreciate the roots
of this style of music and embrace the culture of this world we call HURBAN MUSIC
(Hispanic Urban Music).
