When you strip away the auto-tune, slick photography, and studio magic, all
that¹s left is the music. It¹s something My Beloved Tragedy hasn¹t
forgotten. Infusing elements of rock and R&B, the band brings forth a unique
blend of passionate and emotional alternative rock.
"There¹s certain honesty and realism in the music that you can't fake, "says
Chase McCants, lead vocalist. "I think the band is constantly on the search
for that honesty, that realism. We want to capture all of the experiences
and aspects of our lives, not just love or hate."
My Beloved Tragedy was envisioned by Chase McCants of Detroit, MI and
Anthony Dillard of Columbus, OH towards the end of their sophomore year at
The Ohio State University. Both having been surrounded by music for most of
their lives, the two set off to make music of their own. With the help of
Tommy Davis, Josh Oswald, and Austin Burfield, My Beloved Tragedy has
created an original sound that has permeated Central Ohio since December
2005.
Throughout the years, My Beloved Tragedy has independently released three
albums: "This Changes Everything" (2006), "Say Goodbye" (2007), and
"Forever.Tonight" (2009). In addition to headlining multiple shows
throughout the Columbus and the rest of the midwest, My beloved Tragedy has
opened for Jason Mraz, The Jurassic 5, The Spill Canvas, Rookie of the Year,
and Lydia.
