Walter Clerici was born in Milan, Italy and is now living
in Copenhagen Denmark.
He started playing guitar at the age of 14 heavily
influenced by The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Django
Reinhardt
Today, Walter Clerici works full-time as a professional
guitarist, singer and band leader covering a wide variety of
different musical styles
One of his favourite musical styles is gypsy jazz and he
has been organizing the famous Django Reinhardt Jams in Copenhagen
since 2004.
He has performed with some of the best gypsy jazz musicians,
Dorado Schmitt, Angelo Debarre, Robin Nolan, Andreas Öberg.
among others
In 2006 he recorded his first gypsy jazz CD as a solist,
"Italian Swing" with some great guests, such as Gary
Potter, Popy & Tucsi Basily, Ritary Gaguenetti, and Paulus
Shäfer
He has performed at concerts in New York, London, Paris, Rome,
Finland, Holland, Belgium, Germany, USA as well as in Denmark and Italy.
In New York he played at the Birdland Jazz Club, Le Poisson Rouge ( the historical Village Gate) and The Metropolitan Room.
He also played private for rock legend Jeff Beck and Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones.
