Ilya was born in Ekaterinburg, on the border of Europe and Asia, the place that is connecting two different cultures. This fact has affected Vortex's future musical creativity and career.

Being a real fan of drum'n'bass music in 1998 and having tried himself as a dj, soon he has understood that it would be quite good to play his own tracks.

Combining eastern music traditions and the cleanest european sound, Vortex Involute could not stay unnoticed.

So his musical career has begun, bringin to the masses really heavy smashers (as released on Outbreak), light soulful tunes and really calm atmospheric melodies.
