Compere, poet, MC, promoter, loud-mouth. Creator and MC of Let Them Eat Gak, Bored Youth on Prozac & A Spoonful of Poison.and now Odd Wednesdays. SHOCK HORROR ! VIS HAS LEFT THE RHYTHM FACTORY !Started life as Snakebite City MC. Three years in the service of Wormworld @the Foundry. 18 months hosting the "Pleasure Island" open-mic band nights at The Boston Arms. Co-founder of Bring Your Own Poison and briefly Stylish Riots resident MC (til the infamous 80s Matchbox barrage of beercans incident). Half of Gusset. Frontman of Electricity Comes From Other Planets, now sadly deceased (ECFOP, not Vis). In his time Vis has also appeared in The Bill, been resident poet on 2 series of ITV's now defunct magazine programme SHIFT, and roadied for George Clinton and, bizarrely, Belle & Sebastian. Last September Vis was personally invited to DJ at a festival in Kansk, Siberia. It seems the locals wanted some mid-90s euro-techno, so they were suitably bemused by a set populated with PigBag, Howie B, Jaques Loussier, Boston, thumping 70s disco, Kenny Ball & his Jazzmen and various bits of electro, train noises and banjo-instruction records. Jet-lagged and fuelled by 2 days of vodka and lard-based bar snacks, Vis accidentally introduced the crowd to the concept of the stage diving DJ. Someone else played his last record for him. And yet he still received an offer to DJ another Siberian festival the next week.
Recently released video footage, circa 2002.

I thought I was gonna be the first crusty TV star.

Vis currently hosts a gig every Thursday and one a month on a Saturday - more info here !
