Once Upon a Time
VIOLIN KEY was formed in February 1980 by Charles Mesaros (leadguitar) and Peter Kutschki (vocal). Fortunately they found Uwe F. Heyer quite soon – he is the magic drummer and ultimative "rhytm-machine" for VIOLIN KEY.

At this time, two additional members joined the band: Peter Rekowski (guitar) and Ralf Hemmers (bass). VIOLIN KEY played successfully in local clubs around Duisburg, Germany. From the beginning the band played only their own songs. A lot of fans came to their shows and enjoyed their excellent performance live on stage.

As times went by, Rekowski and Hemmers left the band. The line-up changed several times until Mike Fengler (bass) became a member in 1988. In spring 1994, the 17 year old Christian Casaccia (also leadguitar) joined the band. Christian is Charles Mesaros's cousin and was an addicted fan of the band since he was a 5 years old boy. This enabled him to play all the old songs which the band had nearly forgotten.

In this formation VIOLIN KEY entered the BWS-Studios in winter 1995 to record an album that was also called VIOLIN KEY. After a great time and selling the album very well around the world, VIOLIN KEY Key split in 1997. Just Charles and Uwe remained and decided to continue rocking in that typical style of the band.

Since 2004, the official name of the band got a hyphen between *VIOLIN* and *KEY*. In March of the same year, Christopher Hering (bass) joined the band. He convinced all other band members by spending a case of delicious beer, his extraordinary abilities and of his own genius – in no particular order (LOL)

The May 2008 set another milestone in the history of VIOLIN-KEY, when Charly met Holger Bußler at the birthday party of a common friend: Michael Bormann. Holger plays also leadguitar and even Holgers and Charles style sounds different. Holger joined the band and became their fourth member for the next months. In March 2009 he left the band . At the same time female vocalist Jessica Lymann joined the band. So the four take the old spirit of Violin-Key and mix him with their new enthusiasm.

Last but not least Robert Mourek (guitar) join the Band in March 2012 to give a lot of inspiration and some more powerfull loudness.

VIOLIN-KEY is currently writing new songs and their new album can be expected in nearest future. Charles, Uwe, Christopher, Robert and Jessica are highly motivated and enthusiastic.
Their flame is burning and the story of VIOLIN-KEY will be continued even there's one of the biggest problems in the world: to fix a sixpack to five members!!!
