VIOLET STIGMATA…
… once was Nico's solo project before existing as a true band since 2001. Strongly influenced by old goth/batcave acts such as Christian death or Neva, their music also took elements from the dark industrial scene. Then the band created its unique mixture of both styles, combining chorus distorted guitars, cold keyboards and haunting vocals.
First two albums "Décompositions & Reliques" (2002) and "Progénitures, Suite & Fin" (2003) gathered some demo songs or rerecorded material, helping the band performing live and getting a strong following with songs like "Cut The Flesh Wires!" or "Sleeping People".
When "Dyskronik Circus" is released in 2005, it's pretty clear Violet Stigmata then reaches for a new direction : a drummer replaces the drum machine, giving to the album a new sensibility. There's also less electronics in the structures but still the music keeps a darkwave feeling.
The evolution goes on with a true musical melting-pot, "Twilight of the Fortune Tree", out April 2009 and including psychedelic elements, heavier guitars but remaining for sure the band's most unusual piece : even more rock and cold, it stands again for a new face of the band. Listen and enjoy!
