The purity and depth of Vimala’s voice evoke her cultural heritage, to bring you a soulful voice wrapped in sophisticated modern grooves. Originating from England, she has travelled extensively, using her experiences to shape her musical style. Her influences draw from a broad listening pallet of Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, Sade and Indian classical music.
The songs from her new EP were inspired from an inner groove and peace that she tapped into during her journeys throughout Thailand, Australia, India and Japan. Her message is simple: Truth, strength, love and joy.
Previous releases have seen Vimala performing and working with renowned Australian guitarist -Tommy Emmanuel and James Brown’s bass player- Carl James.
Most notably though, Vimala has enjoyed chart success in Asia, with two top three singles in Thailand and record sales of over 30,000 in Japan.
Her live shows are visually exuberant and musically powerful as she is supported on stage, by her dynamic band that complete the vibe of her performances.
