VIHARA

vihara is an experimental hard rock band from Bend Oregon started by Colten and Austin Williams and Jason Scmidt in early 2000 or so. The band has always tried to continue to evolve and never make the same recordings twice as well as make music that they want to hear. Early recordings were done with vocalist and guitarist Tyler Moss for a heavy sound yet acoustic at times. Vihara's first full lenth album "Stand Fast" features vocalist Justin Bendsnyder and produced and engineered by Sean Norton for a more aggressive hard core punk feel, a record the band always wanted to make and are very proud of. Vihara is currently working on their next record which is very much their most experimental being very ambient, dark, and mostly electronic based with a few different vocalists. Jason is even bringing back the electronic drum Kit and is literally jumping back and forth between acoustic drums and electronic drums for some really heavy sounding stuff! Whenever this record gets completed it will definitely be alot different, however if you liked "Stand Fast" they really think you will like this one. There's not much fun in making the same record twice thats for sure.
