VERCE (Victoriously Enforcing Righteousness in Christ’s Eyes)

True Believer/Minister/Rap Artist/Poet.



Why me, why now and why this way? That’s what I asked the Lord in 1999 when He called me to minister to a people who are as lost as I was. I remember being in college at my apartment in South Phoenix, Arizona in prayer when the voice of the Lord told me to turn to MTV. It was a Jay-Z concert on. He instructed me to watch and observe. As I watched I noticed the worshipful, idolistic influence that this artist had over his listeners chanting every word. I looked at their confusion and seemingly drugged and polluted control they were under. I asked the Lord, “If I could do that for Your influence at least at that magnitude, to lead others to You, grant me the gift.” I added, “But if its wack and not Your will, then forget I even prayed this.” That day I felt the Spirit of the Lord to call me to minister through rap and spoken words to this culture. Seven days later He instructed me to purchase a black book with blank white pages. Not even 2 weeks later the book was filled with Spirit filled rhymes and words.



The walk of Aaron Lorenzo Boone a/k/a VERCE (pronounced “verse”) started in the summer of 1996 in Fort Wayne, IN (born, raised, and currently reside); While incarcerated in a Juvenile lock-up (the last of 5 stints since 1992) I can count on both hands how many times I’d been to church before 1996. My life was going in a downward spiral of anger and rage, violence, some drug use and trafficking, and extreme imprisonment in mind and body. Shortly before the time I was diagnosed with a blood clot on the back of my brain from unknown causes according to doctors. Since a young age I always believed there was a God “out there” and even believed the same as far as Jesus Christ was concerned, but I didn’t know that they would ever have a part to play in my life. Much of the same, I believed there was a heaven and a hell, and I knew the way my life was going, I had a very strong chance of being in the latter of the two. At that moment in my cell, without a preacher in the room, I dropped to my knees and prayed to God. I told Him I was tired of the way my life was going and that I didn’t want to go to hell. I told Him I needed Him and I asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me. I felt the Spirit of God so powerfully in that room that I was prompted to ask Him something else. I told Him if He could save me from hell then He could take away that blood clot from my brain. At that moment I believed I was saved, healed and set free! Two weeks later I was diagnosed by a neurologist with a cat scan and an EEG and there was no sign of the blood clot to be found. From that time my relationship, journey and love walk with Jesus and the Father began.



Now through rap VERCE ministers through the spirit of transparency (being see through, an open book) so that others may grow and/or begin a relationship with God through Christ. Reciting his “living epistle” over beats or silence, he ministers so that all may be challenged and encouraged by the Spirit of God. His purpose is to give glory to Jesus Christ in lifestyle and in ministry and also to destroy the works of satan, my sole/soul enemy.
