The band was founded in Belgium in 1997. Venus first album "Welcome to the Modern Dance Hall" was released in 1999. It was followed one year later by the live CD “The Man who was Already Dead”, recorded at le Cirque Royal (Brussels) and by “Vertigone” recorded in 2003. Venus managed to establish itself with memorable performances across Europe: Rock Werchter (B), Les Eurockéennes (F), Benicassim (E), Arezzo Wave (I), Paléo Festival (CH), Crossing Border (NL), Popkom (D), Spot (DK), . They released "The Red Room", their last studio album, in 2006. The band was dissolved in 2007.
